Copper deposits in Central Asia had again raised interest of Russian companies. AGMK – Almalyk Mining and Smelting Complex JSC – one of the leading producers of copper in Central Asia, attracted interest of “Alfa-Eko” Russian group of companies. Carthill Assets Management (predecessor of Ansher Capital) served as the investment advisor to “Alfa-Eko”, and as stated in the interview to “Interfax” agency by Anvar Rasulev – General Director of Carthill Assets Management – the Russian company intends to acquire 46.5% stake in AGMK.
